Weavers Award 2016 - Application

The Incorporation of Weavers of Glasgow is announcing three Awards for the Scottish Weaving Industry.

First award for the best newcomer into the weaving industry: this could be a designer, dyer, spinner, tuner, weaver, finisher or sales person who has shown outstanding initiative.  They must be within 3 years of starting with your company.

Second award for best piece of woven fabric: tweed or tartan, which must have been woven in Scotland by an up and coming member of your staff.  They must be within 3 years of starting with the mill.

Third award for best lifelong service to the weaving industry: someone who has given over 40 years' service to the industry and are about to retire.

Entries must consist of no more than 500 words, submitted by the manager or director of your company with sample fabric, stating why the candidate merits being considered for the prestigious award.

The closing date is December 2016. Awards will be presented at the Deacon's Choosing Dinner at Trades House, Glasgow on 10th February 2017.  With many industry speakers, this should prove to be another great night!
