Garden Outing to Bute
The Gardeners went "doon the watter" with their picnic baskets on 2nd June 2007 to the Isle of Bute for their annual garden outing.  This family event included conducted tours of Mount Stuart house and garden and nearby Ascog Fernery.







Deacon's Choosing Dinner

25th October 2006

Deacon Brian Porteous held his Choosing Dinner on Wednesday 25th October 2006.  Among the speakers were Derek Casey, Deacon Convener Malcolm Wishart, Deputy W.B. Fraser, OBE, Master of the Worshipful Company of Gardeners, London, and last but not least The Rt. Hon. The Lord Provost of Glasgow, Councillor Liz Cameron.  




Among the celebrities invited were the three first Citizens of Glasgow. From left: Deacon Convener Malcolm Wishart, Lord Provost of Glasgow, Councillor Liz Cameron, the Lord Dean of Guild, John Park, with Deacon Brian Porteous.

The next Deacon's Choosing Dinner will be held on Friday 12th October 2007 at the Trades Hall.
