A Musical Evening with the Gardeners
Friday 11th March 2011
The “Musical Evening with the Gardeners” was an opportunity for Craftsmen to meet and introduce friends and family to the Incorporation of Gardeners in our magnificent Trades Hall, while enjoying a pleasant social evening. There were no formal dress requirements, however following the Craft's tradition, all members wore a buttonhole. This was also an occasion when the Master Court of the Incorporation of Gardeners entertained the Deacon Convener, the Collector of the House, and the Deacons of all the other Incorporations.
This year the evening was a musical one. The Deacon organised a programme of light opera/operetta music for an hour or so. The musicians were all very talented. The soprano was Natalie Montakhab who had just sung the part of the vixen in “The Cunning Little Vixen” in the Theatre Royal, to very good reviews. Raoni Barros was the tenor and Jenni Redmond the pianist. It was a very pleasant evening. All were pleased to come along after a busy week and relax in good company.
