Admission Ceremony and Box Opening Dinner
Friday 7th September 2007

The admission of new members takes place once a year, and on 7th September eleven new Members took the Solemn Oath and were presented with their Scroll of membership and Burgess Ticket.  A buttonhole flower was also presented.  It is customary for Members to wear a buttonhole at all Gardeners gatherings.  






The Admission Ceremony was followed by the Box Opening Dinner in the Saloon.  This small Dinner is for the Master Court and Ex-Deacons, new members and those who have paid their Horticultural Contribution.  The Box is opened and the Deacon puts in a memento of his year in office.
