Citizenship Award Competition Winners 2008

Recognising the great contribution it has made to creating an improved, happier and healthy community, Shawlands Academy has picked up the Trades House of Glasgow Citizenship Award 2008.

Now in its 9th year, the Citizenship award directly encourages and rewards good citizenship in schools and is supported by Glasgow City Council Education Department. It is open to all schools throughout the city – pre-5, primary, secondary and special needs.

Shawlands Academy beat stiff competition from five other short listed schools in the final – Annette Street Primary, Lorne Street Primary, St Charles' Primary, St Martha's Primary and Westercraigs Nursery.
