The year in profileModern Apprentice of the Year Award 2009 Fuad Warsame, a mechanical engineering apprentice with the University of Strathclyde, won the Trades House of Glasgow Modern Apprentice of the Year Award 2009, only three years after arriving in Scotland from Somallia and unable to speak English. Tea Party 2009 Trades House and Crafts' beneficiaries enjoyed another memorable afternoon tea at their annual Tea Party. Citizenship 2009 St Paul's High School awarded the Trades House Citizenship Award 2009 Craftex 2009 North Glasgow College Student, Jill Busby, won best in show Gold Medal honours for her hat design at Craftex 2009. Trades House Lecture This year's Trades House Lecture was hosted by the Glasgow University and was held on Tuesday 14th of July 2009 at 6 pm in the Western Infirmary Lecture Theatre. Jack Anthony Allison-Fairweather has been awarded the Trades House of Glasgow Prize as the graduate in Medicine who has received highest marks in the MB, ChB final written and clinical examinations of academic year 2008-2009. |
