The year in profile
The Trades House of Glasgow has elected retired solicitor Ian L Dunsmore as its 402nd Deacon Convener and retired stockbroker J Michael Low as Collector.
Deacon Convener Ian L Dunsmore's first formal duty was to host the 402nd Annual Dinner of the Trades House of Glasgow on 10th October 2007.
Gavin Jeffrey, a third year apprentice electrician with BAE Systems, has scooped the Trades House of Glasgow Modern Apprentice of the Year title.
This year's Trades House Lecture was hosted by the University of Strathclyde and was held on Thursday 22nd May 2008 at 6 pm in the McCance Lecture Theatre 1.

Special Projects
The Deacon Convener's Special Project this year is Revive MS Support. Money raised at the Glasgow Ball to be held on 10 May 2008 will be used to help create 3 new therapy rooms at their centre in Maryhill.
Social Work
Helping the needy by visiting, providing assistance directly and arranging social events for beneficiaries throughout the year.
Craft Skills
Arranging a competition for the 29 Schools and 10 Further Education Colleges with the best craftwork displayed in the Trades Hall during the four day CRAFTEX exhibition.
