The 402nd Annual Dinner of the Trades House of Glasgow

Deacon Convener Ian L Dunsmore's first formal duty was to host the 402nd Annual Dinner of the Trades House of Glasgow on 10th October 2007.

The Convener's guest speakers on the night were Sheriff Principal Brian A Lockhart and Commodore Ronald J Sandford CBE RN.

The dinner was attended by approximately 200 guests including the Deacons and Visitor of the 14 Incorporations and senior figures representing the City, Commerce, Armed Forces, Universities and Public Bodies.

On the same evening, the Deacon Convener's Lady, Eileen Dunsmore, hosted a dinner in the Western Club for the Ex Conveners' Ladies, wives of both the Deacon Convener's Principal Guests and the Chain Gang.

The Deacon Convener's Special Project this year is Revive MS Support. Money raised at the Glasgow Ball to be held on 10 May 2008 will be used to help create 3 new therapy rooms at their centre in Maryhill.

Arranging a competition for the 29 Schools and 10 Further Education Colleges with the best craftwork displayed in the Trades Hall during the four day CRAFTEX exhibition.
