CRAFTEX 2011

Trades House of Glasgow Annual Craft Awards and Exhibition
Showcasing the very best traditional and modern crafts, design and technology skills taught at Glasgow’s nine colleges of further education.  Craftex 2012 will be the Trades House of Glasgow’s 16th annual craft awards and exhibition.

DATE/TIME
Exhibition runs Thursday 7 to Saturday 9 June, 10am to 4.30pm Thursday to Saturday (open until 7.30pm Thursday)

PLACE
Trades Hall, 85 Glassford Street, Glasgow.  Admission is free.

The Craftex 2012 Exhibition will present end of term curriculum work prepared by students across a wide variety of subjects.  The exhibition and corresponding awards were established in 1995 by the Trades House of Glasgow, a federation of the city’s ancient crafts originating from 1605.

The Craftex Awards will see a top student selected in each subject that forms part of the exhibition with winners receiving a cheque and a certificate and the chance to take the coveted ‘best in show’ Gold Medal Award.  The Medal will be presented by the Trades House Deacon Convener, John R Steele, to mark the exhibition opening on Thursday 7 June at 10am.  A special Deacon Convener’s prize will also recognise Best Design in Show.

The Craftex Award Ceremony will be held in the Trades Hall on Friday 8 June 2012 at 7.30pm
