Commonweal Awards Presentation Evening

The Commonweal Awards are held bi-annually in March and September.

All award winners are invited to an Awards Presentation Evening where they will receive their award and a certificate, as well as have the chance to meet and mingle with other award winners, members of

the Commonweal Committee and Chain Gang.

Fundraising Fashion Show

Join us for an afternoon of fashion, fizz and fun in aid of the Deacon Convener’s charities.

Reception and exhibition from 12.30, show and afternoon tea at 1.30pm on Sunday 31 March 2019 (Mothering Sunday – treat your mum!). Featuring the new season of international fashion by Moda Dea.

Watt a Celebration!

31 May 2019, 7.30 - 10pm, Trades Hall, Glasgow

Presented by The Incorporation of Hammermen of Glasgow, this promises to be a fantastic event. A light-hearted look at the genius of Scottish engineer James Watt will help to raise funds for Primary Engineer, supporting engineering in primary classrooms and curriculum and inspiring the next generation of engineers and 'hammermen'.

Tributes to the great man will be made through music, song, an exhibition and the Scottish launch of new book "James Watt in 50 Objects", with welcome drinks and supper. Tickets available here.


Craftex 2019

Thurs 6, Fri 7 and Sat 8 June from 10am to 4.30pm

Visit this stunning exhibition and see the best of student's work from the colleges of Glasgow. The standard is incredibly high, and with over 50 categories ranging from floristry to plasterwork, woodwork to photography and nail art to DVD production you can see a huge range of modern day crafts in the stunning setting of Trades Hall.
