What we do
The Trades House of Glasgow supports those in need throughout the Greater Glasgow area and organises educational projects and initiatives to motivate, inspire and reward those in education.
The Trades House manages funds in excess of £18 million and donations of more than £750,000 are awarded annually to deserving causes and individuals across the West of Scotland.
Education has been an important element of Trades House since it was established in 1605, giving support to the trades people of Glasgow and their families, offering assistance in times of strife and poverty. It housed the Trades Free School for boys and girls from 1806 to 1876, until the responsibility for education was given to the state.
