Afternoon Tea & Fashion Show raises more than £7,500 for charity

Mother’s Day 2019 was a memorable extravaganza of fashion, food and

entertainment for guests of the Trades House of Glasgow who enjoyed an Afternoon Tea and Fashion Show at Trades Hall, Glassford Street. The event raised more than £6,000 for the Deacon Convener’s charities.

Following a wine reception and classic Afternoon Tea of sandwiches, scones and cakes the audience enjoyed successful singing trio, the St Andrews Sisters, before then being treated to an hour of high fashion featuring a full range of the new season’s cruise wear, leisure wear, evening dress and mother-of-the-bride outfits.

The event was hosted by Mrs Rosemarie McInally, wife of this year’s Deacon

Convener of the Trades and owner of Moda Dea, double award winning ladies fashion boutique of 2018 based in Barrhead.

The guest audience of more than 160 then enjoyed a powerful rendition by Scotland’s Three Tenors, who wowed the crowd with their top-class musical entertainment.

At the end of the afternoon Mrs McInally announced that the event had raised more than £7,500, which would be added to the Deacon Convener’s Charity fund and used to support Kinship Care, School Crafts and the Good Morning Service.
