Citizenship Competition 2019

The Citizenship Awards were presented at a fantastic evening ceremony at Trades

Hall on Wednesday 12 June. This yearly competition is open to all schools (pre-5, primary, secondary and special needs) in the Glasgow area.

The Citizenship Awards aims to recognise the excellent work being undertaken by schools in, for and with their communities.

The standard of entries was incredibly high, with Mount Vernon Primary School being awarded the Trades

House Citizenship plaque. The runners up were Jimmy Dunnachie Family Learning Centre, Nithsdale Nursery, St Brendan’s Primary School, St Timothy’s Primary School, Caledonia Primary School and Sandwood Primary School.

The 'Green Acorn Recognition Award', organised by Glasgow City Council, were also presented by Depute Lord Provost Bailie Philip Braat. Seventeen schools received this, with the Gold Acorn Award going to the Jimmy Dunnachie Family Learning Centre and Nithsdale Nursery.

Congratulations to all the hard working pupils, teachers and parents!
