Determined to Make Movies 2019

The winner of Determined to Make Movies 2019 was Castleton Primary School (who went on to win Glasgow’s Improvement Challenge Fund Film Festival). This is the third year that Trades House has sponsored this project, run by Glasgow City Council's Education Department, which encourages children from an early age to think about careers in the growing film industry in Scotland.

The winning 5 minute documentary was shown at the awards presentation at Glasgow Film Theatre, and features the pupils of Castletown Primary making their argument for a supermarket to be located in Castlemilk to save local residents the cost of bus fares and provide better access to healthy foods.

The BBC reported on the school's success in this article.
