Incorporation of Bakers - Networking Evening and Bakers awards

The successful Bakers Networking Evening was held on 30th May in association with the City of Glasgow’s Bakery and Hospitality Departments. This annual event helps students meet leaders in the fields of baking and hospitality, and two Excellence in Bakery awards were presented to the best students in the NC and the NPA courses.

This year’s winners were Philip Miller and Alison Murney who both received £250, one of the Incorporation of Bakers’ new aprons, and honorary membership to the Craft. The winners were chosen by Master Court members Lisa and Jason Ross, lecturers in the Bakery Department.

Thanks goes to our inspirational speakers: Deacon Convener-Elect Bruce Reidford, Professor Maurice Taylor CBE and Mr Ronnie Miles and Mr Alasdair Smith, all of whom have led successful careers in the bakery and / or hospitality industries.
