Weavers help Royal link for school
Pupils from Bishopbriggs Academy visited Alexander McQueen's flagship store on London's Bond Street to view the innovative 'Unlocking Stories' exhibition after engaging in The Prince's Foundation's Future Textiles initiative. This was funded by the Incorporation of Weavers of Glasgow.

entertainment for guests of the Trades House of Glasgow who enjoyed an Afternoon Tea and Fashion Show at Trades Hall, Glassford Street. The event raised more than £6,000 for the Deacon Convener’s charities.
Following a wine reception and classic Afternoon Tea of sandwiches, scones and cakes the audience enjoyed successful singing trio, the St Andrews Sisters, before then being treated to an hour of high fashion featuring a full range of the new season’s cruise wear, leisure wear, evening dress and mother-of-the-bride outfits.

Local boy, Liam Kearney (aged 13), from Milton, Glasgow, scooped the top award

Liam progressed to this competition after being successful in the Trades House of Glasgow’s Burns Festival, winning 1st place in Verse Speaking S1 – S6.
